History of the Ramos Oil Company
The Ramos Oil Company originally began in 1951 by our founder, Bill Ramos, as a Shell Oil Distributor. Bill, who proudly served our nation as a member of the United States Navy, often referenced his time serving on an aviation gasoline tanker during World War II as the beginning of his work in the oil business.
Bill built our company into a leader in the petroleum industry by instilling six values and characteristics in the company, employees, and relationships. They are hard work, kindness, compassion, generosity, unconditional love, and gratitude.
Following these values, Bill guided the company to become one of the 500 largest Hispanic-Owned Businesses in the United States. Since our beginnings as a Shell Oil Distributor, we have grown to distribute virtually every major petroleum brand available to California and Nevada.
Bill never retired from the Ramos Oil Company and continued to serve customers all the way to his passing, three days after his 93rd birthday in August of 2018. Even after his passing, Bill’s legacy continues at Ramos Oil.
Serving as the second generation of leaders at Ramos Oil, Bill’s three sons Kent, Kyle and Kris now continue to grow the company by building upon Bill’s mission to “Provide our partners with the highest quality petroleum products and services to keep businesses moving and growing.”

As we approach our 7th decade of service to the petroleum industry, our company has grown quite a bit from our early distribution days. Our product line has grown to include a full spectrum of petroleum products including:

Community Service
One of the strongest beliefs Bill instilled into all of us is to demonstrate gratitude for the many blessing we have received by serving the needs of others and giving back to our communities. We affirm to not only continue contributing to the improvement of our communities but to find ways to give more.
